Prep work

From beast
Wow..ok I knew I had some work but of course as I began to remove the carpet and some interior to set up the Vormax, I found rust, moisture, mouse homes and deteriorated insulation. Bolts holding the rear seat in were rusted in and are a real pain. I gave up and decided to cut them out tomorrow.

I am kinda inspired but I was trying to avoid doing too much demolition...but...after what I discovered im glad I did.

The rust depresses me...It gives me regrets buying this thing, I was able to get the title work done relatively easy, I was anticipating some of those dmv problems that give one a migraine, if you dont know what I mean...it is the reason people stress clear title.

I got 4 fittings for the vormax for $4 at home resources here in Missoula...so I saved about $25...me happy. I was also able to get the vegetherm wired together and am excited to fit it all together. One thing that I am worried about is doing the fuel lines and getting air in them....time for some reading.

A lot of work to pimp it up???

This is a picture of the engine with the cover of...even with the conver on this is a loud vehicle...really loud ...ill have to do something. I think I got about 14 mpg on the way back from Wisconsin.

racor filter setup

I got this one on ebay for about $60, I was itching to buy something...I hope it works...looks cool!

my air compressor

this baby my nieghbor gave me ..the motor broke and I thought I would fix it. Now I am thinking to convert it to one of those super suckers for wvo collection...perfect!

my sweet plastic drum

My ride,aka the beast

ok I shopped around a lot, initially I wanted to get a bus but instead found a unique montana style vehicle that can double as a recreational/commercial vehicle.

I found a 1986 ford econoline 1/2 van and 1/2 dually truck on ebay. I paid $3500 and drove it back from Wisconsin. It was one of my worst buys on ebay and i allowed myself to get hosed somewhat. the truck was never registered or title in the name of the people I bought it from, also the overstated the condition of the vehicle ...like new glow plugs...not! any how I made it back to Montana.

It has been sitting in the drive way while I have been acquiring the needed components.

It already has 2 tanks but I think Ill leave them be, and add a wvo tank as a seperate clean installation. I got a veggietherm from Plantdrive, I picked up a sweet storage tank from home resources(a local recycling place) for $20, and a racor filter thingy.

My Project

Ok ive been reading(a lot) and feel completely confused, but confident enough to start. I feel obligated to share my experience so it may serve as added information in the communty of those attempting this wvo conversion process.
